I voted! but I didn't submit my pictures because reason 1 all my pics have an ugly background. 2, my car is 1 hour away from my house and I've been working 7 days a week so no time here summer is going and i can't even enjoy my car. 3,there are a lot of beautifull cars here for only 12 months. but i'm buying a calendar don't care who's car will make it as long as it has mavericks/comets it will be better than any ordinary calendar!

    2009 calendar

Thank you all with the top cars that didnt enter this calendar (the 9 and 10 out of 10 cars ).That now has given room for us guys and Gals that arnt . Now that said ,all you members that have cars that are less than a 9 ,we all get a shot at a calendar spot :bananaman. I am only doing this for the forum ,i have no personal gain in this at all ,I was told that i should automatically put my car in because im doing this ,but im not, im even letting my car be voted on #49 to 51 and if it dosnt make the cut then im out and there will be another fine maverick or comet in . All i know is there will be a great calendar of Maverick and comets( with 13 great cars) for 2009 and that if not every one here is interested thats fine, there is about 80 to 100 that are and im sure that 100 to 125 calendars will be sold . Blugene and Stefan(Big Cheese) thanks for your help.

OK here's a stupid question, where's the poll? Is that the stars on the photos in the calendar gallery thread?

I know my Grabber isn't as nice as some of the restored or mint cars in this forum, but isn't this supposed to be a calendar for all of us, even those whose cars may not be the prettiest?

Thanks for doing this Jimmy. You deserve a lot of credit for your efforts.

I just voted and tried to get some variety into the calendar. I found that other forum and the "Joke" thread. They all sound like sour grapes!

I thought the variety was cool...
I don't know the other forum... I only come here. I'll have to look at the one I have saved in my favorites and see if it's that one.

Call me what you will, i don't find this a joke in the least as i think that the calender is a great idea, if anyone feels the need to blame me for whatever problems these two boards have with each other then do what you need to do. I did not start this crap and as of now i'm done with it.

WOW! I didn't know that creating and wanting (or not) a calander could be so stressfull.
If you don't like the idea, simply don't participate or buy one. Why even comment?
The calander is a positive outlook for the forum. It represents us as a group. Alot of us want one with our car in it so that becomes motivating to get it looking better.
I also think that to say you don't care is disrespectful to those who put just as much love into there car. Most of us want a nice ride and are just as willing to put the time and energy it takes to have it.
Remember this, your car looks best to you.

"us verses them" was going on before he made his comment, which is all I took it for. I'm not talking about the other board either...I guess I am since those people are here and there. But who cares? Right? :bump:

Thanks guys for puting inthe time to make this calendar. I would have loved to submit a photo but my car was not together (and still isnt) during the submission period. Either way I voted for the pics and submitted that I am in for 2 calendars. I've got a coworker who owns a AMC Javlin and is a member of the AMC forum. They have a calendar someone puts together in a file format. (not a quality item) All you have to do is print it out from your computer. This months car is a lifted electric green pacer with a flat black exo-cage. Talk about variety. :yikes:

Wow, I came into this late... but I won't be voting on the cars either, or purchasing a calendar like I had originally planned. It has nothing to do w/ not liking someone here, or whatever... I just decided against it, as I've spent to much money on other things, to blow on more posters/items for the wall.

As far as the groups, there is a reason I am not part of any groups. There was one I was very interested in, but never joined due to not owning a maverick/comet anymore. If the 2 groups can't get along, i find it very childish.

Now, the reason I am not voting is due the fact that I'm not purchasing one. If I was purchasing one, I'd vote. But I choose to let the guys that are buying them actually vote. I won a virtual car show award on here a few years back, and I participated in that but also didn't think I'd win at all. I was very proud of the fact, but I also thought there were better cars than mine.

I wish you all luck with the calendar and your clubs/groups. I just wish everyone could get along.

to be honest, I didn't bother either.

My car isn't finished, and out of respect for all other mavericks and comets, I didn't submit a primered maverick photo. I love all Mavericks and Comets, but to be honest, I only really look at the nice ones. Now, i'm not talking about them having to be $100,000+ but IMO a calendar should only be reserved for finished paint jobs, nice originals, restomods, etc. not rusted daily drivers. Also, the picture quality is of upmost importance and i'm not seeing that in some.

I however, and probably in irony, do like the idea of a rusted Maverick heaven calendar, kinda like old trucks calendar, but personally to have something like Craig's ultra clean car or Derricks Maverick seen in hotrod and then flip to the next month and see so and so's with a tree growing out of the hood is not something I'd buy. But thats me.

I respect the challenge and time of putting together a calendar, it's nice what you are doing, but thats why i didnt bother. and to be honest a lot of people registered on here dont get on here if any at all. so they certainly arent going to vote.

But, the truth is, I would love to have mine in a calendar no matter what condition, if it was when i first got it, and it had algae growing out of it, or now, where it's 90% done with a complete restoration. I just thought that the people that spent a lot of time, and their money should get top billing. My opinion... I meant this most humbly..

by the way, whats this other board? I truthfully only come here....

    and I agree with andysutt.

If people are bothered by cars that are less than a 9 or a 10 being included in the mix, but there are 63 cars in the running, I don't understand the problem. Isn't the whole voting process going to weed out the bad pics and "un-calendar worthy" rides?

    Nevermind, I found the site.

I never really went there, cause I like the layout of this site better. More user friendly.
