Anyone know of a insurance company that works with restored or custom cars? I would hate to put a ton of money into a car, and only have it coverd as a stocker. Suggestions?
Yes, Hagerty is good and so is Grundy. I have been happy with them and I had to make a claim after Katrina. Compare shop with them.
I just checked with Grundy and i can insure all thre of my Mavericks for $140.50 a year. That is $100000 liability, Comprehensive and Collision with uninsured and underinsured motorists at the statutory limits. I just have to ask, Why am I paying $360 for six months at State Farm for just liability?
i speculate that hagerty and grundy have such great policys at low prices because the cars they insure are owned by passionate people who drive with a little extra caution, are more carefull with the security and safety of there vehical
I have Hagerty as well ... there are stipulations with most collector policies like that the car has to be garaged, can not be used over a certain amount of miles per year, and won't be covered while being raced on a track.
.....and.....they drive them very, very little compared to a daily driver.....keep them in a garage 99% of the time....and probably have very few claims compared to the general public.
I have two of mine insured with Grundy. They have never asked for the mileage one time so they obviously don't have a mileage stipulation on their policy. Both of these companies however have very good reputations and I would feel good with either one.
Grundy has no mileage limitations. They have and MVP program that will cover your Daily Driver, Collector Cars, Motorcycles, RV etc.
