I need to do some rust repair under the battery tray and was wondering if a Mustang front fender apron is close enough to make a patch? If so, what year? I don't think my wood planks are gonna hold up much longer.
The area below the battery tray is easy enough to fabricate. From the picture I would be concerned on how much of the frame rail is ate up.
The frame rail is still pretty solid. The bumper mount caught a lot of wet dirt and pitted the rail. To make my own patch I will need to make several radius corners and I don't own a stretcher/shrinker. I was thinking about cutting up a Mustang apron to get the piece around the battery area and weld it to my apron.
we just fabricated our own.... 2nd pic is right after some body work, and it was DUSTY!!! but, you get the ideas... but, then again, mine is in the trunk now.
