the frusterating buuuzzzzz!

    well i have just traded my 94 berreta aka junk fer a decent 68 falcon 4 door with a 74 mav 250 in it. the starter was tested and works but every
    time i go to try to start the dang thing the selinoyed "buzzes"? i have a good battery and i have disconected the alternater but it still buzzes?
    eny ideas?:huh:

    Three 71 Maverick Grabbers, a 72 302 Sprint, a 73 LDO 2door parts car, a 76 silver v8 Stallion.
    Sounds like cable problems. If your battery terminals have the caps/2 bolts holding the cable down take them apart and clean them thoroughly. I usually turn the cap upside down when I put it back on and it will squeeze the cable a little tighter. Or you can just replace them...very cheap. Let us know if that does you any good.

    they were cleaned and still it buzzes?

    Try another known good solinoid...Do you have a volt meter/multi meter???If so check the voltage accross that positive cable from the battery.If it isnt showing batery voltage at BOTH ends, replace it and try again...Good luck Kurt!!!

    It is probably a dead or very weak cell..... in the battery.

    Bad ground cable...Weak cells are easy to bust out of... get a horse/some rope,just like in those old time westerns.;)

    When the buzz becomes annoying I disconnect the battery, problem solved.
