Can a Maverick pull a trailer with a Maverick ?

    I was wondering if a Maverick could pull a trailer with another Maverick on it?

    Someone here probobly has done it but I wouldn't do it. I once pulled a small trailer with my tool boxes and it was scary. :character0182:

    I doubt it. A trailer with a Maverick is going to weigh 4,000 lbs. You would definitely need an electric brake controller. It would be one pucker of a drive.

    I'm sure I would not want to do it with a tow dolly. Pucker factor increases by 5.

    As is "of the butt cheeks." Like when Rick Porter wrote about his first time in Plum Crazy - the pucker factor was so great he put a permanent crease in his racing seat.

    Considering some cars trailers weigh 2000 lbs alone, and a Maverick is what @ 3200 or so, I wouldn't trust any bumper mounted hitch of any type bolted to a 31+ years old car towing another 5000 lbs.

    I believe it could be done safely with a Mav built specifically to tow.

    Just to throw a hitch on any ol Mav, and tow a car trailer... NO!

    Minimum of sub-frame connectors, new four-leaf springs, oversized brakes on front and rear, frame mounted tow hitch, electric brake controller, beefed up six-banger for torque, external transmission cooler, beefed up C-4...just to name a few.

    I'd look for a fulls-size station wagon to use as a tow vehicle for a Maverick. A tricked out Ranchero would be a cool tow vehicle.
