I was gonna ask you to try to put the vinyl top trim on a non-vinyl car and see if it fits loosely ... but doubt you have another 4-door laying around ... In that case you install will be much simpler since the gutters will be easier to do ..
yea, on my 76 the vinal tucked under all the trim. around the windshield, rear window and also the drip rails. good luck with the project, persoanlly though i like ratio411's idea
Usually, I am not a fan of vinyl tops, heck, usually I'm not a fan of 4 doors either. To add more fuel to the fire, green is also one of my least favorite colors. But there is something about this car that I really like. Maybe its just the owner's infatuation with it was contagious. Don't know, but I am going to make it nice.
I Just Dont Think For My Personal Use Id Use A Aerosol Can Adhesive "im Anal" ......im Sure That Stuff Will Work For A While...i Cant Imagine It Working For 40+ Years In Weather Though....but For A Garage Queen Im Sure Its Fine
vinyl tops are nice, but i like painted tops..lol. but when they're in good shape and everything, they look fabulous
My kit from American Trim came with the material, 1 gallon of brush/roll on glue and 1 qt of cleaner.
I would put another vinyl top on it vs painting it. If it's a LDO and you're keeping the side trim, in my opinion it needs the vinyl top to match the trim.
