Let me just say that it was without a doubt the best 4 days I have ever experienced with my car. I have been to 8 of these national events, hosted 2 of them, never before had I been apart of such a relaxed, smooth running show. I felt like everyone that was there, wanted to be there; everyone felt like they could just jump right in and get involved. which is what we wanted when we started the MCG. And that is what happened. We had so many first timer's and the involvement from them was absolutely awesome. Husbands, wives and children got right in there and was immediately apart of this special group. The only division there was the lines in the parking lot that seperated the car. I have been for the last few years slowly losing interest in this hobby, too much drama, to much politics and too many people getting mad and just plain not understanding why the MCG was formed. I have been mentally wore out trying to keep the peace and trying to get people to understand. This week in Joplin really was great for my soul and it took the dying flame I had and poured fuel to it. I can honestly say it has been many, many years since I have been this excited about owning a maverick. This week has been great medicine for me, for that I want to thank each and every person that took part of and made me feel like I truly belong to something special, because again I realize I do. my wife ask me last night what happen to me while I was gone......I told her that Johnny got his groove back! I found my maverickmojo.......in Joplin, MO.
The weekend was great medicine for a number of people. I saw the difference in John between Thursday and Sunday! He was even smiling after I took 2 of 3 when we raced our trucks.

Was really great to see all the old faces, and wow, were there so many new faces. Even new members from the local area that said they had never seen anything like it. Jeff and Misty, and their son were a welcome addition. Lots of wow factor when Jeff drove in with his Maverick. No hood, the better to see the 2-4's on the cross ram intake. And he gets 25 mpg with it. His wife's early Mustang with the 5.0 FI engine in it was a show stopper in itself. Just another old "family Get together".
A great post, John. I'm glad to hear the good news. You've got that certain, "Johness" about you that says that no matter what, they aren't going to keep you down." (quote from movie, 'You, Me and Dupree'). You're throwing seven kinds of different smoke again!
