I wasnt happy with the straight LED replacement 1157. While it worked great when the parking lights were off, I found that the driving light was a bit too bright, and I found there wasnt enough differenciation when signalling a turn or stopping at night with the parking laghts on. So I split the two wires on the tail socket and moved the driving lamp behind the clear back-up lens. I havent had a bulb in the back up sockets since I bought the car, so I figured I would try this. Still not sure if I like it, but it definitely is different looking. Feel free to critique. I would like hear some opinions from the board. Thanks, Brian

Why don't you convert the inner reflectors in to the running lights, and use the outboard lights for turn signals?

    Probably illegal.

    I like the reflectors.:)

I thought it looked pretty cool with the small red parking lamps. Since my only response was "try something else", and "its probably illegal", I guess I was alone.

You can go to Radio Shack and get a resistor to put in series with each parking lamp circuit to dim it. They're cheap, and you can get a couple of them to vary the intensity to how you like it. I'd start with 100 ohm 1/2 watt and see what happens. If it's still to bright put another resistor in series to make it dimmer. If one resistor makes it too dim, put another in parallel with the first to make it brighter

Thats good advice. I didnt think of that. That makes it a bit more palletable to switch back to stock configuration with the led bulbs. Thanks.
