GT Clone

After much thought, I have decided. I will be cloning my car, minus the motor, and stripes. Anybody, want to add their ideas.

 

yea that hood scoop looks good on just about any mav/comet

 

Hey I like the stripes I have been even thinking about putting some on my Maverick.

 

without the stripes there really isnt too much to clone. hood scoop and bucket interior?

 

Axle swap too.

 

Am I correct to assume that 4 door mav/comet axles and spindles will convert?

 

Yes rather nicely, hopefully you are looking at a disk brake car because they help out a ton. If you are make sure to take the proportioning valve and everything with it.

 

Do whatever you want, it's your car.

 

I'm just going to try getting 5 lug, disc or drum, no matter. Hood scoop. Been looking at the stripe, but I don't want to deface the good name of the GT with my abomination, I may just do a paint on black stripe, somethign simular but not the same. Interior is going to be tough.

 

Leave as is and make a sleeper . Just a thought...

 

170 CI Sleeper, no way. I will fall asleep before it'll smoke the back tires again. Just want to give the impression its fast, without the money (whole lotta money) and gas consumption.

 

Yea, a creaper is cheaper ... At least it will look fast like you said. The GT model is the sharpest in my opinion...

I went with the GT clone/LDO version myself. Good luck with the car....

 

I like the direction you are going in. Kind of the same thing I have been doing ... give it a "GT" flavor, but mine is hot-rodded. Don't want to tell too much more ... it will take me a lot of time, but it will be so worth it when it will be done.

 

you could get comet GTs with 6 cylinders too. it was just an appearence package. didnt make the car any faster
