can anyone tell me where the vin number is located? ive search the entire car and i can not find it. i only have the vin number on the dash board. I can not drive the car because of this... if some one could show me a pic of the place, i would be apperciated
That's it Left dash almost at windshield, should be all you need. But it also was on a sticker Drivers side door opening at the quarter panel.
yeah i know... but here in portugal the car inspectors saiy that i need a plate number or a number craved on the chassi... like the new cars have... about the plate, ford doesnt supply it anymore, so i though that might be a place in the chassi where the vin number is located
Yeah I was going to say that. On my car it is totally hidden by fender. You have to take the left fender off.
well ive found a small plate on the right side of the where the battery is... i cant see the numbers very well... i hope thats the plate vin number
the vin number is 2x91f231158 on the left side i cant see nothing, the was painted long ago so... its a small plane with numbers and has the number 231158
Well, that should do it anyway. The Numbers match. Again on my car to see the numbers stamped on the left side you have to remove the fender.
Here is a pic of a 72 Comet right apron. You can almost make out the VIN on top lip. The best I can remember the VIN is on both sides. I have a pic of a Stallion right apron showing the VIN also
Looks like you have what you need then 2 = 1972 x = St. Thomas Assembly Plant 91 = 2 door standard sedan F = 302 v8 231158 is the consecutive unit number Does the car have the data tag on the drivers side B pillar? If so post the information from the tag.
damm that was helpful!!! never knew what the vin number meant. yes it has a sticker on the drivers side, and i think it has one in the passanger side too. tire specs and color trims... i left the car at the garage, but ,monday iam gonna post the pics of the stickers and the plate. i hope the guys from inspection realy undestand this... they wanted a document from Ford saying that the plates do the work... looks like i have to remove the fender to show them hahaha btw thanks for the pic!
In your other post you indicated the car is a Sprint. If it is truly a Sprint it will have an RB in the trim code on the drivers side B pillar tag. If it is a Sprint, make sure you send all the information from the tags and VIN to Mavaholic here on the forum he is the keeper of the Sprint registry.
ok then i ll see that. i think thats a sprint because of the interior! but i will take the pics to show! Thks!
