Well, Tough times are coming for me. I got a $13,200 paycut from the post office. Along with many other carriers. How nice of them. Well to try and cover some bills that need to be paid I might end up selling my mav.
    Don't know yet for sure.
But just a question to you all.
How much do you think I should sell him for?
Its a 1973, 2 door, 302 with about 146,000 miles or so. Rebuilt engine about 4,000 miles ago, which was about 4 years ago. Don't put many miles on it. Overhaul of the tranny, and rear end fluids changed. Runs better then my new car.

It runs great but here are the things that need fixed. Needs a new radiator, it has the original one from 1973. Likes to over heat in this Las Vegas Heat, when its above 105 or so. Has a slow power steering leak on the ram, needs to be replaced. Needs new drums. And I cant figure out the vacum for the heater/ac switch?? Totally Clueless on that one. And AC needs charged. But other then that it is almost new. Paint still looks great. 8/10. And the vinyl top is cracking in some places, plus someone put a ciggerette out on it for some mean reason.

Interior looks like new except a crack on the dash. And a rip in the seat down below about an inch wide. Can't see it if your not looking.

It has been in many car shows and has won 1st most original ford. Before the paint job. Fyi. 2nd place for Best ford, and 2nd best daily driver "Way back in the day"!

I have pics in another thread.

    http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=36228

All and all its about a 8-8.5/10

Hope I don't have to sell it, but if I do, I will let you guys know first.
    So whats it worth?

    Thanks

I know sucks. Personally I think mavericks are undervalued. I was hoping that it would be in the $9,000 range. I will try to fix all the problems before I sell it if I do. Got offered $8,000 a couple of years ago, but I didn't want to sell it then. lol.

If that car is as nice as it looks through and through, I'd say somewhere around $6,000-8,000. That looks to be an extremely nice car. Sorry to hear you may have to sell it.

    You've told us before.

Anyways, sell your car and move on, it's just a car, to the outside world it's just an old car, I hope you can find someone that sees the value in it. From the looks of it, it's pretty nice!

Well the post office can do anything they want. They are firing over 2400 supervisors in the coming months. They are trying to downsize, and like crazy. We have a 4 yr contract so they can't get rid of us yet. But who knows after that.
Whats seems weird is the post master general gave himself a raise of $75,000 retroactive for the past three years. And its a lump some. So he is making more then the president of the usa, this year.
    Anyway,
Your right it is just a car, but have tons of memories with it. Im selling other things first. The mav will be one of the last things to go.

I feel your pain, I work in the aircraft industry and can make an extra 25000 a year on overtime but some years they just don't offer it, my wife doesn't work so all my hobbies get shelved in the lean years, I have made less money than the year before for 2 years in a row, our CEO got a 12 million dollar bonus last year while we lost some benifits so the company ( Lockheed ) could stay competitive ! Hope ypu can keep your car !
