i wont to rebuild my front end, ball joints upper and lowers maybe replace bushings in aframes and lower controle arms paint it of course. my guestion is would it be better to by a kit off ebay for 269.00 or just do my front end?
I bought the whole set for the front end, from a Mustang company. They are interchangeable. Same part number. The price was right also....
Urethane has a reputation for squeaking. Polygraphite has been treated and doesn't have as many squeaking problems. They, like urethane ones, are stiffer than rubber and make better road handling ones. Rubber is forgiving, but has lasted for 30+ years in all of the cars. Softer ride for us old men. Jim
I have a Polygraphite set in my Comet and they are quiet. Firmer feel too. I would highly recommend them. Just one caution... use stock-type rubber bushings on the strut rods that run forward off the lower A-arms. It has been discussed here that with stiffer bushings in there, it is possible for them to fail.
All Rubber (for street use) ...post #7...price. (even with Franks money) ...post #9... more forgiving = softer ride. (for us older men) ...post #11...less chance of breaking S/Rs. (never broke one but have read about it happening) ...JMO...
At least 15,000, and I don't think they are harsh. But this isn't a cushy car either ... thumpin' motor, no A/C or heat right now... If anything I want the car to handle better than it does. It needs a real set of shocks on it. The current set is regular auto parts discount junk.
