I found some little snap-on critters at O'Reilly that are supposed to be to hook up the stock trans cooler lines to an aftermarket trans cooler that has the nipples.

Are these what i need to make the nipples accept the pipe fitted and/or AN fittings, so I can get rid of the hose-clamped rubber lines?

    For once, you lost me...:90:

Sounds like a Star Trek reference, but I very seldom watched it. Only the one with Trouble with Tribbles...

I was very amazed that nobody made a "nipple" joke. Unless that was what you were getting at with your "karnak" reference.

OK, I am embarrassed. I remember him now that I see Mr. Carson.

I was only 10-12 yrs old, so the name didn't stick, but I immediately recognized him when I saw the pic....

You will need to get a adapter from pipe to AN. If I'm not mistaken its 3/8 pipe to no 6 AN. I think your going to freak when you find out how much the braided hose is going to cost if you are going this route. P.S. I'm sure you know NOT to use just any rubber line if you use rubber.

I have messed with AN and I am well aware how much that braided hose costs per foot:yikes:

But, that is just the right way to do it, if I want to lose the steel tubing.

And, no, I did not know it wasn't just rubber tubing. I have been using 3/8 or 5/16 fuel line for the length from the cooler to the ends of the steel tube. Maybe 12" each way, just around to the front of the radiator.

Can I keep using that for the next couple months until i swap to the AN lines? I have run it this way for a couple years, since I added the cooler.

The fuel line hose will deteriorate from the inside, Possibly stopping up passages in the process. If you need to run the rubber get power steering return line. Yes the braided line is the way to go, But it is high, that's why i thought you would freak.

Scooper, you mean all this time I had you pegged as a "Walton & Johnson" 10 percenter all this time and you're not? The threaded holes in the C-4 case are neither AN, nor pipe thread. They're straight pipe with an O ring, and the stock fittings adapt to inverted flare. When I did mine I reused a set of stainless steel lines from a wrecked E150 van.
