I need some advice.

    im going to see about a 73 4-door this weekend. he says he is asking 400. it is in ok shape body-wise. it needs a little work. is 400 good?

    if the body is decent, and cowls are solid, sounds like a decent price

    what are some things to look at when buying a maverick ? ...and not for parts.. :)

    70 mav, 71 grabber, 73 Comet, 2004 f-250 crew cab diesel, 2001 f-250, 2004 explorer, 2007 Gold Wing trike.
    Pour about a gallon of water down the vents in front of the windshield. See if any comes out inside. If it does this is an expensive repait. Also look underneath for rust on the frame, especially the torque boxes.:)

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    The front frame rails terminate at the (torque boxes) on the floor pan.(under the toe board-by your feet)They are rather square in appearance and should not have rot holes in them or be peeling away from the floor pan at their edges.If so,walk away unless you are a good welder/fabricator or know one who works cheap.Good luck.

    The best advice I can give a novice car person - is take along a friend or relative that is a car nut. They will know what to look for and provide the wisdom you seek on the actual car.
