Some of you know about the battle I've had in getting leaf springs with the correct eyelet size from JCWhitney. Well, the battle continues. I called JCW a few weeks back and told them the eyelet size was incorrect. They told me to send them back for an exchange (they paid for shipping). Before I sent them back, I called John R. Spring and verified that they were in stock, shipping, and had the correct eyelet size - they did. So I sent them back to JCW. At the same time I placed an order for a new shackle and bushing kit, which immediately when on backorder.

Monday I received credit for the returned springs but never a charge for the new set. I called and asked about it and they told me to "wait a few days". I called today and found out that the springs are once again on backorder and they don't know when they'll start shipping. I also found out that they never actually placed an exchange order - they only issued a refund. That is why the online order status said "line was cancelled".

I had them cancel the order for the shackles and did not have them place an order for the springs. Through all of this they were very nice and are sending me a $20 gift certificate for the trouble. Regardless, I've battled this for a year and I'm going to buy somewhere else.

Several of you have mentioned ESPO. I went to their website, but didn't see any leaf springs listed. Did you have to call in the order?

Wow, I hate to hear that. I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I ordered a four leaf set last year from J. C. Whitney and they showed up several days before I expected them, and everything fit.

I ordered a 4 leaf set for my 71 thru General Springs at this site:

    http://www.generalspringkc.com/

But I got the shackles and bushings from AutoKrafters. Everything fit like a glove! :thumbs2:

What is the prob getting springs,,,? I am having all mine rebuilt 4 miles away,, there is a possibility that they can make up new sets,, If your main leaf is not broken,, they can re-bow and rebuild all under the main leaf,, they are doing 4 sets for me,,,:Handshake,, If you need help with them just yell.

Thanks Gene, but I think I'm going to check out General Spring. Their prices are the same as JCW. Hopefully they don't get their springs from John R, because they're the supplier on backorder. The other bad part about it is that the JCW shackle kits are on backorder until who-knows-when. I talked to John R Spring about this last week. I think that ESPO has shackle and bushing kits though.

There are multiple reasons I want to go with new springs. I think have a cracked leaf (I don't have them off yet). My car is leaning to one side. Sure, I could take a set off a parts car, but everything I have is 3 leaf. I want to go with a stiffer 4 leaf set - and for $125 a pair, I think it's worth it. :D

I bought a set from ESPO and it picked the back of my car up at least 3 inches. Never could get them right.

I got the Espo springs, the 3 leaf springs, and the car sits very well, not raised at all. Took 3 days to receive the springs. Very easy to deal with.
