well my mav had been stalling at mid-WOT so i adjusted the acl pump and today i was working on the power steering and guess what i found somehow i had flattened out my fuel line.....i just bought a tube cutter at harbor freight(my new favorite store) so nows a good time to use it...i also bought a pressure/vacuum gauge but it was already messed up have to return it tomorrow...i hope after i fix this it runs great like it was last month.

well it was only half the problem when i replaced the line it would run well at WOT but died at mid throttle after tuning it about 100 times i got it to run great at WOT but i still have some problems:

i fixed the "dies at part throttle" but now its popping at part throttle

idles at 1000 with 14in vaccum(carb wont let it idle at under 1K)[no leaks]

idles mixtures dont improve or weaken the vaccum

advancing the timing improves it by 1 but it starts like crap

sometimes the power brakes kill the engine and sometimes they dont when they have thew same amount of vaccum (but right now they have been working well but this car has moods)

i cant seam to figure out the fast idle, what is it anyways?(with the choke closed?)

    i'm using a 6919(4160) with 62 jets a 6.5 Power valve and 91 octane
on a 302 with 65 289 heads, unknown cam, performer intake, stock elec. ign. w/vac adv. off a 351C ,dual 2" Xhaust with 40series flows and c4

Does it die? or is it stumbling and your not letting off so it dies?
In the first thread you start off talking about you were adjusting the carb. I am guessing that the car was running good from idle to WOT... Did you do anything to alter the settings or did it just happen one cold morning?

Plug that brake booster vacuum and recheck just for grins.

in the first thread it would idle great at 650rpm and runf great at WOT but would die at part throttle after tuning it to factory specs(except the fast idle)
it doesn't die any more it just stumbles at part throttle and it run great at WOT

i've tried blocking the booster but it runs the same

check your float levels, i am guessing when you hit the gas, the bowls are sloshing and the floats are going up and down, messing with the fuel going into the intake

i'm still playing around with it..i think i set it to 6 BTDC, stock 75 mav is 8 i think.

the stock ignition had a bunch of spark delay valves and other things(according to my diagram) but by the time i got this mav all of it had been removed so i just hooked up the vac line from the dizzy to the metering block(if i suck on it it advances the timing[clockwise])

Are you using the clear sight plugs? Just wondering. I have some but have never used them. I'm not there yet currently. I have never used them in the past and wondered about there reliability. I was thinking about getting it right THEN installing them to see how they look when set correctly.
