Hey guys, Like I said before I'm really new to this. I'm replacing the plugs and the plug wires. The distributor cap looks new and the points and rotor are all clean. I'm working on a '74 Mercury Comet 302 8 cylinder and have pulled all the wires off...........In what order ddo I need to connect the wires back on to the distributor? Thanks for all of your help.
that is a great link...just make sure you start out on the #1 cyl. ...to do this...remove the #1 plug...turn motor over untill the piston is all the way up to the top of the cyl....remove the dist. cap and see what term. the rotor is pointing at,this is #1 plug wire...start there... ...Frank..
You might want to see about getting a chiltons manual. Also next time you might do one plug and wire at a time. That way they stay in order.
Thanks Guys The link was perfect, thanks. Yes, next time I will keep it to oone at a time. Like I said this is my first time at any of this, so any and all coments or suggestions are more than welcomed and appretiated. Later Rick
some times if you do not watch for the intake valve to open and close before you line the timing marks up you could be one half round off tsanders
