My brother-in-law finally got around to finishing up my shock towers. I think they turned out great compared to how they looked when i got the car. here's some before and after pictures. not a bad way to spend Christmas day at the in-laws, huh? (y)

BTW, that's 8 gauge galvanized steel you're looking at :D no more rust and 3/times stronger than factory :D:D:D

Very clean looking job. Looks like you can slip a 351 pretty easy in there now. As you said, nice way to spend a Christmas day.

Looks good! Galvanized is some nasty stuff to weld.

yes it is. just have to be sure you're in a well ventilated area, or in this case right in front of the garage door.

i hope you had a respirator on while welding gavlanized metal. you can get poisoned from the fumes.

a good turbin fan from an old heating unit in front of the garage gave us plenty of ventalation. the fumes aren't the only thing you have to be careful around.... welding galvanized also has a cob-web like by-product that is dangerous if it gets in your lungs. I work at a manufacturing company that welds galvanized everyday of the year, which also makes us take a safety course every 45 days so im well equipped with the safety practices of welding hazardous metals/materials :)
