I have access to a floorshift Pinto steering column in a flattened Pinto(tractorized by a hillbilly buddy of mine). Would it work in my Comet? It's tan but could be made black I suppose if I can use it.

It's a free part too so, BONUS!

    If it's free, get it.
    Try it...
If it works, let us know...
If not, you haven't lost anything.

The Pinto is a column that mates to a rack & pinion steering setup, same as a Mustang II. It won't just bolt up to your steering box. Maybe you could combine them somehow and come up with something that will work for you. At least it's free.:dancing:

The car was smashed flat in a drunken tractor rampage. The shifter is dead but somehow the column looks fine and the wheel still turns so it's not bent. The lower edge of the wheel is 3 inches from the floorboard.
