I talked to my father and he will need a pair for his '76 Stallion. We need an unchromed pair because they are flat black originally. We need them in the future, so we wont buy it right now...

Are all boomerang the same for each year? :hmmm:

    Thanks

Yes, they only make two shapes, one with squared off corners and one rounded. I'm assuming the Stallions have the rounded off ones too.

For all the guys that are going to paint them ... why not just paint some original factory ones with crappy chrome? Even if you have to sand them down and throw a skim coat of bondo on them you could probably get 20 of them for the cost of a new plastic pair ...

For me time is money. I can make more money in the 2-3 hours it would take to strip off the chrome from the potmetal ones, fill the pits, prime, sand, and refinish them. I can take a new set and have them scuffed and painted in about 15 minutes. If you don't have a choice then you do what you gotta do but now I hopefully have a choice.

I have a 1976 Maverick Stallion, and 85 More Mavericks and Comets in Inventory.

Having a sweet car like your maverick didnt hapen with $500. I bet you have a good size investment in that car,, If we built a car like that I can see a customer spending an easy $6,000. not counting some of the custom things,, Nor Mechanical,, So lets take a quick look at fixing some 20 Boom-arangs,,
    cost,,,:

    1 quart (good) body filler = $19.
    1 pint (good) Uro-prime = $30.
    1 pint (good)base-coat = $40.
    1 pint (good) clear coat = $40.

20 Boom-arangs @$100. per shop hour,, Hmmmm ,, My crew doesnt work for free,, So if they actually did all 20 in 1 hour that still adds up to $229.
So let me know when you have 20 done rite,, that is 10 sets,, That you would have no problem putting on that sweet sexy car you have,, :Handshake I am sure a few others would be happy to buy restored and painted Boom-arangs,, specially for $5. a piece,,, :thumbs2: My last quote to have mine rechromed was about $160. for the pair. Since they are made from Pot metal,,, they would last maybe 3 years on my driver,,, Composits dont rust,,, dont pit,, and can be cleaned scuffed and sparyed with little labor,,
