No worries. If its a monte carlo bar you want, than ye shall have it. :D

I can make you just about anything. Let me get the pictures up of the two brace styles first, that way we're all on the same page regarding brace orientation, etc.

... there exists the possibility that I will further discount my prices for someone who orders both a set of traction links and a brace...lol :yup:

Get a hold of a press, and those bushing come right out (and right back in). When I put my Caltracs on, I went to a local muffler shop owned by a buddy, and his press had simply a hydraulic jack (had to pump it with a handle) but it was worth loading everything up and driving to the shop, rather than beating the tar out of it with the tools i had in the garage.

I think these will work better than slapper bars under any circumstance...These effectively tie the rear axle directly to the rear subframe allowing only up and down motion. Slappers still let the axle twist in relation to the frame.

I have had mine on all season, but haven't had a chance to try them out due to the weather, and then mechanical difficulties I have recently encountered. But I have a set of slicks and subframe connectors on and ready to go!!!

Those look good. I do have a dumb question though, do the shocks still mount up like stock?

the short answer is YES. The long answer is that these bars (as do cal tracs and slide a links) replace the lower perch/shock mount. They'll work w/the 70 and the later years as well. The plates are versatile. ;)

Neato! Did I miss the price? I was going to use some yellow Lakewoods for the mean look but these look mean too and probably work better. Excellent!

Thanks for the 'Neato', mate! Though I should tell you that link type traction bars, from any manufacturer, are significantly more expensive than slapper bars...they also work in a vastly superior capacity. The improvement in 60ft times you'll get from a properly set up link traction rig will impress you and you can kiss wheel hop and wind up goodbye.

Anywho- they're $300 bucks complete including the shipping.

Let me know if you have any questions!:tiphat:

Appreciate you trying to help out the Maverick community.....and this is only my opinion, but I don't see where you can go wrong with a set of authentic cal-trac bars for $339, considering they are powder coated and come with a priceless amount of technical knowledge from the guys at calvert racing. Once again, just my opinion.

What advantage will these have over typical underride traction bars?

I'm pretty sure that's what the slapper bars are that are mentioned several times in this thread... Scott mentioned one of the effects, the diff twisting with the slappers and only able to go up and down with the set up. Course i'm no expert, i'm learning this stuff myself...

No, I'm not referring to slapper bars, I'm referring to the Traction Master underride bars like used on Shelby Mustangs. I used a set on one of my Mavericks. They bolt on to the spring perches and weld onto the floor just ahead of the front leaf spring mount - for only $89 a pair. What advantage to these have over the Traction Masters? They appear to be entirely bolt-on, if that correct? If so, that's an advantage.

The Cal-tracs and Slide a Link style bars actually apply downward pressure just behind the front eye of the spring causing it to multiply the downforce on the axle. Very different from under rider bars.

You better hope Calvert Racing doesn't have a patent on cal tracs.

He does, and if history teaches us anything he tries to sue anyone that copies his design.
