Well, actually both sides of my front fenders have weak spots on top about 1/3 of the way from the front. When I lean on the right side, it flexes and dents but snaps right back when I hit it from underneath. The left side is not as bad but the problem is similar. Has anyone experienced this on their Maverick? I will have to reinforce it from underneath when I go to paint thie beast in the future.

mine pops back out on its own. then again if mine was painted i nor anyone else would be putting their weight on it anyway

 Don't lean on it anymore...:hide:

Seriously, I found that weak spot years ago (in the 70's) and never lean or sit on my fenders anymore.

I noticed this immediately when I started repairing the brakes, tuning the car and removing excess stuff not needed in the engine bay. I am considering welding a reinforcement underneath to see how that works. I think the run of sheet metal was just too long and was a design flaw.

I have yet to see a Maverick that didn't do that. Mine pop back out on their own also.

when i had my fenders off doing my new motor, i addressed that problem.

i cleaned the underside and put (2) coats of..."Gator liner"...under there.

    ...:thumbs2:...
