should I paint or coat new starter?

    Just paint it black,mask off the mounting face so it will ground.The paint will keep it from corroding which I believe is what you want.Get some semi gloss black rustoleum spray paint.Bolt it up and drive.Powder coat is nice but overkill for a part you may end up replacing sooner than you planned anyway.

    But...if you really want to show off, take it and dissasemble it to the shell and have the shell (housing) chhhrrroooooomed...ooooohh :yup:.

    Clear coat is great stuff! I clear coated my intake b-4 I put it on it has had gas on it twice and cleaned up great. Two years and NO yellowing or discolor looks like new. I didn't do my starter but, now I think I will. Thanks Guys!!
