well metal cancer and not the terminal stuff thank god the metal cancer I can fix. Take a look at these pictures and tell me what you think. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g84/rolandag2/pic1.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g84/rolandag2/pic2.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g84/rolandag2/pic3.jpg
Lol the drip rails look goodtoo bad the rest of the roof aint.Yeah swap the roof that ones not worth the trouble.Hows the rest of the car?? Oops sorry thats the pinch weld at the windshield. I thought the one shot had the drip rail in it.Ignore me I took a vicatin for my back at dinner time.
hines I'm trying to repair any vehicle worth repairing, that said I will try to put patches in and replace the cowl vents and replace any other panels that need replacement. I will be installing floorpanels and firewall with a smooth one.
Yea, that roof is definitely toast. If the rest of the car looks like that also, then I'd say parts car.
most people would make a parts car of it but not me I love a challenge and I will replace all the bad panels and install ifs kit either mII or late model mustang frame kit
Hey, I totally understand. My '74 Grabber needs about the same amount of work (minus the roof), and I still am keeping it around in hopes of getting it going again sooner or later. Partially because I really liked the car, and partially because most people wouldn't bother with it.
I love that attitude. You know, us old car guys are really good for the environment. Instead of junking them and filling land fills we give them extra years. And I'm not sure about "not the terminal stuff". That's some endstage, disseminated, metastasized malignant stuff right there. I'd say a few rounds of chemo, some radiation therapy and then go in for major operation. Patching should be fine, but more work, I think one large roof section will make it easier, IMO.
. "Take a look at these pictures and tell me what you think." ...scrapiron... ...this one ain't...:sorry: ......
i guess it easy to say it is not worth repairing when people dont have the skills to perform the repairs. I have seen vehicle in the same shape and have seen them have new floorpans installed and bad sections repaired.
not to say the 71 does not have the skills, just saying that some people will determine that the amount of work is measured by the percieved value of the vehicle the person is working on, and whether or not the person wants to go thru all that trouble to bring the car back from the dead
Nothing to do with skills here .... a 68 Mustang fastback would be worth the effort ... a run of the mill Maverick is not ...
