It was a rainy day,,,,, We had some time on our hands,,,:16suspect I figured that we just had to do something to brighten up every ones day,,,(y) But How...?
I broke out the tools and got my team together, We had a major job to do,,,, Make a maverick go faster then any one has ever seen,,,:burnout:But How,,,,,,,? So i looked at all the pretty cars on this site,,, and low and behold it hit me,,,,,, The answer was rite in front of me,,, How could I be so blind,, my 4 year old had the answer,, I couldnt believe this child had the very answer,,,,, Unbelievable,,,, He had got into my old stash of broken model cars,,, he had this model Maverick in one hand and this huge rocket engine and said : Daddy can we make this go like the cars from the races,,,,I took him to nights under fire at Norwalk,,, He loved the jet cars,,,
But Of course,,,,,, he had the car,,,,the special power plant,,,, and we took it from there..
The Estes D-12 rocket engine atached to the 1/25th scale model Maverick went together so nice like,,, It had to be done,,,, All thow the Idea was to launch this miracle car on all 4 wheels,,, When ignited,,, it went down the track a few feet and went verticle,,, and Out of site,, after carefull examination we determand that it actually went over a 1/4 mile,,, and did it in about 5.5 seconds,,,,, now we would love to try this again,,,but the Maverick needs a tad bit of body work,,,, the landing could have been a little better,,,

But,,,,,,, I did promiss you a Maverick that did a 1/4 mile in 5.5 seconds,
Well Back to the drawing board,,,, see what we can come up with for next week,,,,

    Joe:clap:

What the hell is a 4 year old doing with a Estes D-12 rocket engine ? In some juisdictions that could be considered child endangerment and neglect! And you tell the whole world that your son is walking around with a explosive!

Technically, it is not an "explosive" but is classified as a "propellant"...

Done it before! Next time put small eye hooks on the bottom of the car. Then run a string down the road, use some blocks at both ends to hold the string. Put the car down with the eye hooks on the string.........and let her rip!

yeah Why does someone always have to take **** out of context and get child endangerment and sht like that involved for cripes sake it was a humorous story, leave it at that. nobody said the kid had an ignitor and the battery box to set the thing off.

How fast.....I dont know. Fast enough to made you turn you head fast to follow it........we were maybe 300 yards up a road......think by the time we said holy crap, the car was flipping in the front yard. We were only using c6-5 engines also.

Hey, what happens to the car when the -5 part happens?

Is that like a reverse, or braking stage of the run?

Or does it just pop the front off the ground and send the car into the air?
