Came across a '73 2 door Comet. There is absolutely nothing good on this car except...

    wait for it.....

A set of clutch pedals! :rofl2: :biglaugh:

I literally laughed out loud when I saw them hanging there. The Mexicans were looking at me like :coco: LOL...

The entire linkage for the manual trans was there also, but the Z bar and all was badly worn to the point someone had used a bunch of washers to make it work right. Plus I ran out of time. So I just left it and grabbed the clutch pedals and return spring.

    Good score.

I wish I had time to go junkin'...
I think the deep south is the last stand for these old cars and I am getting the feeling I might see fewer and fewer the way everyone is talking.

cant remember the last time i seen a seat upholstered in duct tape :)

is that some aftermarket/dealer installed A/C in the middle of the dash?

You probably would not want that column. It was originally a three on the tree car, and someone had kind of rigged it to look like a floor shift column.

It is definitely after market. I have seen several different types of A/C's installed in these cars before, but haven't seen one like that before, that was actually made to match the contour of the Mav/Comet dash like that. It had a very strange looking compressor, one like I had never seen before.

The hood had minor rust holes in the front lip. The hood lip trim had some dents in it.

Jamie; did you think to get the knobs for the lights and wipers, or were they wasted? When you find a set, save them for me! I still need them. Haven't seen you in a while, hope things are going well.

That side trim is really hard to find. If its good, I'd grab it.

The piece that you see in that picture, was the only piece on the car. I have always liked that trim, and would have grabbed it for my car if all of it were there.
