Hmm. I didn't see any of the prior posts in this thread indicating everyone knew that. In fact, it appeared there were quite a few questions and even some insinuations that Mavericks might have come with them. I wouldn't have bothered to post if I would have seen one.

Thanks for confirming that indeed people didn't know for sure. The first post says "optional on the Stallion." They were NOT optional on the Maverick Stallion. So while they could have meant only the Pinto and Mustang II Stallion, the post might be confusing for other people reading the thread. It was to me. The second one says "not factory on MY car," but not that they were not factory on ANY Maverick, so I just wanted to clear it up. Thanks for letting me know I didn't just miss a post where someone confirmed they were NEVER actually factory available on a Maverick or Comet.

I'm sure it's not that big of deal, Chuck. This topic has been discussed here a million times, right along with disc brake conversions and V-8 swaps...

Sometimes, the old farts of this forum forget that the number of people on this board has more than doubled in about two years. We tend to forget that newbies don't know everything like the seasoned veterans of this forum.

It would take an outrageous offer for me to even think about selling mine. It's not for sale, buy you never know when somebody may want it more than me.

Well, I bought two. The first one was 8-dollars (actually $6, but I paid $2 to get in) at the local "U-pull it", real leather-wrap, but it's in bad shape and needs to be re-wrapped.

The second one I got on eBay and I paid waay too much for it ($140 with shipping), but I had already lost on the previous 4 that I had bid on, and I was not gonna lose this one. It is vinyl, not leather, but in decent shape. It's the one shown in the picture in the Members Gallery.

So basically, they are priced very reasonably at the junkyards, but anywhere else, people charge a lot for them. They just look like they belong in Mavericks/Comets...

...as do 4 bbl carbs and four-speeds. Those weren't ever offered from the factory either.
