I finally got the car back from getting the exhaust hooked up...

Remember this is the first time i have driven it since upgrading the exhaust to Flowmaster Super 44s, subframe connectors, and more importantly the 1.7 roller rockers and caltracs:D

This thing literally SCARES me now...

It has a hesitation at around 70% throttle, but if you floor it, it will forget about hesitating and will TAKE OFFF:yahoo:

Hard to describe, but it took off so fast the first time I gunned it that right after I hit second gear, I had to stop and pull over because I thought something broke. It accelerated so fast I thought something had broken loose. I looked down and was at 80 without even knowing it (on country highway WAY out in the middle of nowhere;) )

And the Super 44s...when you hit around 4500 rpms, the tone changes from a low-pitched growl to a cross between a hissing panther and fingernails dragging over a chalkboard (in a good way:D ). Really hard to explain...I might try to take the tape recorder with me and post the clip, if I can find a recorder that works on batteries.

And the Cal-Tracs and subframe combo, really weird the first time you hit it...instead of the rear end sinking on takeoff, it is like the front lifts instead (I guess that is what they are supposed to do?). The sensation is kinda like if you hit the gas and your seat automatically and immediately raises an inch or two, and you think that since you are moving in an upward direction, that your head will hit the ceiling so you reflexively crunch your head down:hmmm:

Still have a slight hesitation, but I am confident that I can get rid of it with a metering rod swap.

WAY Cool:D This is what "Hot Rodding" is all about...

It is about time to take it to the track and start swapping metering rods...do it in a safe and controlled environment.

Glad to hear the bars work, Yes the whole car is actually picking up a inch or more, that is what it is supposed to do. Get someone to video the car from the side when you take off, you wont believe what the car does. Also watch the bars i dont know if its just mine or they all do it, But mine actually go into an arch.

Now you just need to put a Holley on there and go really fast.

My 75 was setup much like yours.
It did best with a 700 DP.
It ran a 4 speed though...

I had a 2" open spacer to put on my T289 from time to time also that helped. I tested it on the street, but mainly got it to swap in at the track.
Never had that chance though... the car revved stronger with it though.

    I don't have any friends...

Especially ones with high tech doodads like video cameras.

Best I can do is a video clip from my digital camera, no sound, no more than 15-30 seconds. Choppy.

Honestly, I have been estimating that I am in the high 13s, low 14s. Just based on the "competition" that stmanser and I have been engaged in. I have never ran a 1/4 track, so do not have the numbers to prove what i am running. But before all this I was running 1/8 at 76 mph & 9.4s. with 255/60r15s. Never getting out of second gear until I cross the line.

I will try to get all my little bugs fixed and take it to the track next weekend if the weather holds out. I will then run on some 205/60r15s with a 2" smaller diameter. I think I will then be able to make it to 3rd gear.

I am pretty sure those won't hook so I will try the 26X10.5 ET slicks at 1" less diameter than my street tires.

That will be 27" street tires, 25" street tires, and 26" slicks.

Sometime this summer, once i get everything tuned in, I may take it to Baytown and run the 1/4...
