http://www.carburetorusa.com/default.htm It costs about as much as a rebuilt one purchased and it guarantees that you have your original back. They rebuild your existing carb. What do you all think?
Never heard of them. Pony Carb is good.....but expensive. Carbs are easy to rebuild....just try it youself.
Yep especially holleysnow the Q-jets might be a bit more confusing good thing you don't have one of those
Just a bit of history...did you know that in 1970 the 429 Cobra Jet came stock with a Quadrajet??? I won more bets off of that one when I owned my Cyclone. But I've always rebuilt my carbs...it's really not that hard. The only tough part is getting the carb cleaner in a big enough container to soak the body or throttle plates of the carb. I use a metal oil pan and dump two gallon containers of carb cleaner into it. Then lock it away so it doesn't spill or make the garage smell while it's cleaning. When the carb is done I pour it back into the cans and seal them up.
Depending on what carb you have, if you can work a screwdriver and read instructions, most factory carbs on these cars aren't that complicated. I love the 2100 and 4100 as there is almost nothing that can really screw up. Gasket on top, simple accelerator pump, jets, needle and seat, float, butterflies and shaft. Holley's are simple enough, but the metering blocks can get stopped up. There's just not that much that can go wrong on the 2100 and 4100. The 6 cylinder carbs, never been into one. I know the one on my old Comet was a pain just from hearing my dad's stories. It might have just been a lemon. That car had problems.
