A few weeks ago I was contacted by Benny and Rose Bryant with some questions about their '71 Comet GT. They had shared some pics with me
at the time. I was able to meet them this past Friday night at a local cruise-in. Benny knew a co-worker who bought this car new in Burlington, NC. Benny and his wife Rose now live near Lake Gaston on the NC/VA border.
This is an excellent looking car. The car has wider steel wheels to allow for more tire width, but sports the original trim rings and center caps. Dual exhaust, 4V and a tach and gauges are the only other changes. The original 302 runs well with 101K on the odometer. The front bucket seats with the comfortweave(?) was recovered with the original style material.
It is a very very pale blue-almost white-original paint-with blue interior.

    Enjoy.

Makes my Maverick seem kinda...boring. Hmm...maybe I should consider a Comet?

Seth tell them they have a nice cruise-in in Clarksville Va which is probably not too far from them on the first friday every month.

    He mentioned one...

....in his area. Maybe that is it. You should come down for this one.
3rd Thurs. in July in Creedmoor, NC. Should be a 60 min. drive for you.
55 for me. Kind of like meeting half way, huh?

    Lakefest!

To hell with a cruise in, I'd stick with Lakefest. You've got a place on the water. I've downed many a cocktail at Clarksville after stepping off of a boat!

Do they still shoot fireworks off of the railroad car? Kerr and Gaston Lake is like living a Kenny Chesney song!
