so im trying to get an early style door apart. im stuck on the arm rest. im fishing around in the two holes in the bottom of the arm rest with a screw driver and cant find the d@mn screws. its not a nut in there is it, help me out! thanks
There should be a 3/8th hex-head screw in each hole. You need to use as slender of a socket as you can find or it may come off the extension when you pull it back out. It works best if you use a nut driver.
should they be straight back. it feels like the screw drive is being pushed up at 45* but even when i go straight in i cant find nothin. i'll try that 5/16 i guess. thanks 4 the reply
alright, ive done enough today. that door was the last thing on my things to do list anyway i'll try those tomorrow, thanks for the help guys
i used the 3/8 socket and yes it got stuck but i just pushed it and the screw through from the otherside with a screwdriver thanks
A nut driver is the way to go but I have gotten away with using a 1/4" drive rachet, extension and a deep 3/8 socket. Tape the socket to the extension with a couple of layers of electrical tape and be carfull. Ya, its a little redneck but it works for me everytime.
