backfire though carb

    so now that i got the slow turning problem kinda solved i have another problem, why does it back fire though the carb when i go to start???

    i pretty sure its timing issue BUT which way is it??? to retarded or to advanced???

    Do u have the right firing order, that usely happens when you have either a mixed up wire or the timing is WAY off causing the fuel to ignite when the intake valve is open.

    i was so meticlus(sp) in making sure everything was on point:(

    itll start up for a second then shut off , then ill turn it back on and it pops back though the carb....

    eddie make sure that you have the firing order going counterclockwise on the dissy that happen to me just yesterday.

    I actually set mine up using the wrong one as #1. So the entire thing was out of wack...Took me a while but once I figured it out...:slap: :banghead:

    A lean mixture will make it fire back through the carb.... Since you are sure you set the timing right, and if it runs but back fires through the carb it is because the mixture is too lean.
    It usually happens when the engine is cold and the choke isn't working.
