alot of people have asked on here over the years.. and everyone gets the same answer..

what is the use of the vehicle.. show,, daily driver.. drag ... etc..

what kind of tires are you going to use.. what size are you thinking?

some rims and tires get too big for our cars.. and if you get the wrong size, you might be in a bad spot..

maverick man has a website that he has fitted a few types and sizes of rims... do a search for it on here.. it might help you out.. he has boyd coddington rims on his examples.. but the sizes are what i am referring to

Personally, I think there hideous, but it really shouldn't matter what I or we think. Its your car, build it to your taste. 16" wheels will fit with no problems. 8" on the back with no more than 4" backspacing is no problem.

you know i've navigated through this bored and most the pics i have seen are of guys with all the same wheels or somewhat close i mean i understand everyone has there own taste but i personally feel that besides the minute details of a restoration most of you guys TO ME don't seem to be original. i really don't mind the honest opinions nor am i taking a stab at you guys cause honestly alot of you guys have some awesoem cars that i would do anything for. but one thing i feel the domestic crowd truly lacks is real on originality

My personal preference is not use those types of wheels on an older car. I really think those wheels would look good on a much, much newer car. However, I'm an 'ol fart and have 'ol fart tastes. You put on 'em on your Mav and post pictures. You may teach us old dogs a new trick.:tiphat:

I don't know how you figure we lack "originality". Most of us have some kind of after-market wheels on our Maverick/Comet. If the wheels are not what the car came stock with, then they are a personalized, creative upgrade. Factory stock wheels lack originality. Wait, no, they are "original" because they are what came originally on the car, so let me re-phrase that; they are boring.

Put whatever wheels you like on your car. But you asked for opinions, and mine is that they are hideous, just like Dennis said...

no i understand and please please don't take me wrong and maybe i'm just looking in the wrong section but the guys i have seen on here are rocking stock wheels and like you said its boring i completely understand that. please understand that it was no pun on anyone. and please don't think i can't take criticism cause its def not that way. this is my first domestic. i have owned my own import company and do really well with it but i'd like to step outside of my box if you get what i mean

yep,.......I would agree that a good % of those that visit this board tend to follow the same path. and a lot of them arent real original. but what ever floats your boat, right:D

interesting wheel pick,..... I hope the rest of the car will be as wild so it wont look out of place.(y) .

but in defense of the domestic crowd,........seems that alot of the import owners all do the same or similar stuff as well...... nothing really groundbreaking or all that different very often (in my opinion).

    Not my taste either.

I have raced alot of cars. VW's, Evo VII's, Domestics, and they all have their own 'aura', if you will.

You have to pick parts that match the type of car that you have, IMO.

    Or not...lol

All I can say is it seems to me when somebody is asking opinions on the looks of something, its like they are looking for approval. Like its really a indecision at the moment and looking for the persuasive push towards your opinion. I dont see the same old thing repeated a lot here or anywhere. Come to a Roundup. Nowhere will you find a larger gathering of these cars and I guarantee you no 2 cars will look alike.

Oh boy, are you a jdm'er? :D . Everytime I here someone identify me (us) as "the domestic crowd" I cringe. These guys on here want "their" car to be "period correct". I personally like the looks of a torque thrust d or a crager ss, but that is my opinion.

Do what you want with your car, But please, dont litter your fine American iron with stickers and a wing.
