OK, I'm using newer 5.0 heads with the AIR injection threaded holes on the front and back of the heads. I can buy threaded plugs to block them off but I need to use one on the driver side front for accessory brackets. My problem! The threaded hole is larger than the bolt that holds the bracket on. Is there an insert that I can use to reduce the size of the threads to match the bolt? Thanks.
Yea, there's a threaded insert for that hole. The dealer should have these. If not, let me know and I'll pull one and mail it to you.
Ask to talk with the parts manager. You could be talking with someone who's still wet behind the ears.
found correct number Well, after calling FRPP and reading MAV1970s post I called my local dealer. They can order the part for 21.97 each. And, they come in pairs for a grand total of 43.94 plus tax! I talked them down to 16 a piece! What a steal! Anyone have any idea why FMC isn't doing so well? Makes me want to run out a buy a Ford! NAFORD302 I called silver seal and they have them for 99 cents. Imagine that! I'm sorry for the sarcastic tone but that pricing is simply stupid.
Wow, were they trying to stick it to you. I know I didn't pay more than a couple of bucks when I last bought them.
air injection? i have 94 5.0 motor, are you talking about where egr tubes connected on back of the head? i just threaded bolts in there...is that bad????
