That does sound low (to me). In fact, I would suspect it'd be around 165-180ish.

Is the car using oil or down on power or something ("why are you checking the compression" is I guess is what I'm asking)?

As you have probably heard also, it's more important that all the cylinders are at least within 10% of each other - but still 90 to 100 sounds very low.

Did the static compression on the 5.0 go up at some time? I've had three (later model) 5.0's.

    They all had 170-180psi. :hmmm:

Whaaaa!? You de-EFI'd the 69-1/2?? (or were you doing all that EFI work on the Ranger all aong - and I was just thinking that you were putting in the Maverick?)

Either way, I imagine it does "scream" with the HP/Weight ratio. :yup:

Borrowed Rick! Borrowed!! The ranger has Mass air,,,, few extra wires here, and there, and made the Speed density into a MASS air EFI. In the meantime, Im pulling the 5.0 back out of the 69.5, I have to do something different on the front suspension on it. Roads around here are no freeway,,, May as well be on dirt! Been thinking of a mustang II conversion, Stiffen up the chassis as much as I can. Ive came across a Narrowed 9 inch rear end, Ive got a bunch of leaf springs to put together a good setup. Was thinking of how MOPAR had done their super stock springs on it. Tires, I havent got that far yet. Tranny, well the C4 went south, and wanting a 5 speed. Gonna rebuild the 5.0 into a 347, with a E303 roller cam. Heads already have the good springs on em. The speed density computers, they say wont handle those kind of modifications,,, MASS will, so thats why I borrowed, the EFI manifold ,, engine is still in the 69.5,,, till it gets a bit warmer outside, some weekend wrench turning, refine my body work skills, put the old maverick to where I want it to be.
I know the EFI works, now its time to build a stronger body to hold it. ChadS
