Why is that? Isn't it the same size as the "C"? Is the block bigger?. Bell housing pattern different?....
Block is taller. Sorta like 302 vs 351w. Same basic design, but bigger engine. The Ms use 460 bellhousing, but all the rest of the external stuff is small block. The engine mounts are unique to the Ms, but closer to 460 than SBF. So, super wide engine, with big bellhousing, and unique mounts... Definately not swap friendly for a small car. Everything needed to put a 460 would have to be done to the car, so why not put the big-boy in there when you've done all that work?
I, too, know where Cave City is, been through there many times. Usually stop through Mont Eagle and then Cave City one or two times a year to get gas or whatever on our way to Indianapolis visiting relatives. I had that problem with my '72 daily driver, brake lights staying on (or just turning on and off randomly when the car was unoccupied, which freaked me out the first time, because it was dark and I had just glanced out my bedroom window to see the brake lights flashing, and thought someone might have been in the car trying to steal it or something ). I replaced the brake light switch, and that fixed it. Good luck with your project!
Cool. I learned something new. I never really researched it before because I never had any intention of using a 351M. They were low-compression engines, but there are some mods available nowadays that can make 'em run pretty dang good...
