Geez Dan...come within 15 miles of my house and don't invite me for one of those steaks. What's up with that? You guys coulda met at my house and we could have had a mini-meet with 10 Mavericks. Oh well...not gonna cry over spilt milk. Congrats to both of you. (y)

Sorry Ray .... :( We both needed to make a quick trip there and back .... I had work in the morning and Colton had school. However, if I had known you only lived 15 miles away ... I would have definitely told you meet us at the Steakhouse .... Sorry!

Excellent. Now you can put a cool steering wheel on it, disc brakes, and lose those god-awful bumper guards and vinyl top. Maybe even stick a V-8 in it some day...:D

I wouldn't be so sure of that... I did help install the new engine in that car, after all. :hmmm: :biglaugh: Drove my '74 Grabber over there and helped Dan drop it in, two days before I wrecked the Grabber.

Hey Rick, I think you should put it back all original. I've even got the original, V.I.N. matching engine from that car stored up at my grandparents house in North Carolina that I will gladly trade you back for the one we put in it. :D

Seriously though, congrats! That is a damn nice car. I wouldn't touch a thing on it.

Congrats to both you guys. (y) I too was wanting to make sure this Mav got a good home. I actually considered it also. It is truly a great car. I also like the 150. Great job guys. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?:yup:

    Missing my old '70 Maverick
Thanks for all the well-wishes (and funnies), guys!

Sorry about the pictures, Dan. My initial INCORRECT instructions I gave Colton about how to use the camera resulted in no pictures. :(

Ray, I thought about you being close (wasn't sure exactly 'how' close though), but we decided at 10:00 Saturday night to leave out at 5:30 the next morning to meet up in Mobile. Things were happening so fast, I wasn't sure where I was and when. I would love to have visited with you again.

17 hours of driving in one day. Whew! That's the longest trip I've EVER taken. It didn't seem that long though - it's all in the mindset. I knew I was going to be driving a sweet Maverick back home.

Yes, I'll be (proudly) showing it at local car shows along with you other guys in this region.

I never say 'never'. There could be a small block in it's future. Right now I'm satisfied with the spunky little 250. It has excellent throttle response and I don't have to help the "little engine that could" pass someone by constantly throwing the momentum of my weight forward.

If I'm right about this, I'd like to thank my friend Frank for making the arrangements for Terry (Hawkco) to get a car with a Grabber hood on it, Terry to make the deal with Dan to provide him the hood, my pal Ed (fan2488) for making a piece that allows the floor shifter to lock the steering wheel (a transaction that Dan and Ed had made some time ago), Craig for having the Magnum 500's, and my thanks to Jamie for helping me install my, I mean Dan's, motor. ;)

Most of all, I'd like to thank Rattle-Can-Dan for putting together a very nice Maverick and help putting together a nice deal for both of us (what were the odds he was looking for an F-150 XLT while I was looking to buy his Mav?)

I feel more like a legit board member now that I have a "driver" Maverick (along with the "strip-only"). I suppose I could acquire 4 or 5 more to get the "real" feel. :D

Thanks guys. "It's an honor just to be nominated." ;)

Don't forget, that I drove my son to TN to bring it back on my trailer. :biglaugh:

The 84-year old lady, that sold Dan the '74, asked if he was my son and if Colton was my grandson. Dan liked her better than I did.:hmmm:

.... and don't forget your daughter doesn't like Grabber hoods so it ended up being horse traded to me ...
