I just picked up a set of 4V 351C closed chamber heads for the race car. Even dirty and not redone they still are pretty! And they were cheap too, even better.
I find it amazing that people are saying the 4V closed chamber heads are not selling for much money due to the new aluminum heads on the market. Then others, like yourself, are able to find them "cheap". Every set I have tried to purchase in the past six months end up being over $400 and they look worse than that set. Anybody know where I can find two sets of 4V closed chamber heads that the owner does NOT want to retire off the sale?
Sometimes you can find some through the classifieds on the Cleveland board http://www.network54.com/Forum/119419/
To make these heads work right you will need the adapter plate that goes between the head and the header. The man that knows this product better then anyone else that I know. is Coy Miller of CMR (Coy Miller Racing) he has been doing machine work for 30 years and is a Cleveland expert. If you want to make these heads flow then call him, because a out of the box Vic Jr's will will flow better then stock 4V 351's I don't have his number but you can find it on the web. Good luck. Don't need to. I've had iron headed and iron block equipped cleveland cars running as quick as 8.85 @ 2900 lbs. Believe I've got it handled on my end, thanks.
