The bird went for $4,550. Which worked out just right cuz I paid 4200 for it about a month ago! So after interest and the cost to put it on ebay, and all that, I made a couple hundred!

Scratch all the above!! This guy came to pick the car up after the end of the auction, picking the car apart, and said he is not buying it, nor does he plan on buying it within the seven days he has. I am sooo mad!!!
He complained saying the item was misrepresented, not true. He picked at the very things i listed in the description. He is a local guy and never once did he try to see the car before auction ended! Never once did he email me with any further questions on the car. I just dont know what to do right now!!! I have emailed ebays customer support but it doesnt seem like this guy would even have to pay for it!!! It seems like the best case scenario is that I will be compensated for relisting. Anybody else have problems like this before?

Oh by the way he has 2 other neg feedbacks involving the same thing!! this sucks!!!

I don't think legally you can make him buy it, but you can (and should) report him to Ebay and leave negative feedback. They may pull his account.

You're going to need to re-list the car, but Ebay will credit you the fees since he did not pay. Was there anyone else bidding that was close to the final price? You can do a second chance offer with them and sell it.

I think that is just rediculous! Whats the point in ebay stating that the buyer is in a binding contract after the auction is over, if it doesn't treat it like a binding contract.

well, to be a binding contract I would think you'd need signatures, witnesses, notary possibly, on a legal contract. With Ebay all you do is click a button to bid, there's no way of proving who did the clicking anyway.

I'm sure they state it's a binding contract to try to prevent what just happened to you.

I sympathize with you, I've had deadbeat bidders myself.

Guy appears to be a first class dickwad. He already left you a negative feedback, time to return the favor... He will likely get kicked off ebay for another negative.

there were several others that bid real close to his offer, maybe give them a second chance offer.

one thing for sure, they will remove the negative feedback he left since he didn't pay. I did not know that and had a negative from a non-payer. you have to contact Ebay though. By the time I found out it could be removed it was too late to do anything.
