Got a Reply from the TVMC. Here is what was sent. They meet at the local ryans for dinner / club meet. And if you didnt notice the Smoky Mountain Auto Fest is the same weekend but it is thur, fri and sat and the mustang/ford show is sat and sun. Robert Robert, I have forwarded your email to our club president Rhonda Murrill. I'm sure that we will discuss it at the next club meeting on February 26. Regards, Jim Mcfarland
I'm planning on making the Spring Grand Rod Run. I need to get my reservations this week. Where are the good places to stay? I may have to take what is available at this point. Cleaver
depends on if you want to stay on the strip.....Me and the my GirlFriend stay up in wears valley at hidden mountain resort in the cabins. cost is a tad bit more but it is quiet. I have been able to find back roads to get from there to the other side of the strip and miss all the traffic. http://www.hiddenmountain.com/ robert
My response from the TVMC. Robert, Our show is Sept 22-23. Why don't you come to our meeting 2/26 and bounce your ideas off the club members. Jim Ok we have dialog......what do i do next as i am a virgin to setting up a mini-meet or any gathering other than a back-yard BBQ. I will assume that both MCG and MCCI would like to be seen as I am a member of both. It looks to be that the schedule has been changed to be a week earlier that I stated and what shows on the calendars. I will verify this...at least it is 7 months out. I would guess that they would like to know all they can about us. Robert
"Me and the my GirlFriend stay up in wears valley at hidden mountain resort in the cabins. cost is a tad bit more but it is quiet." Robert, why do you want to go to a week long rod run to get away with the girlfriend in the quiet and avoid traffic? Cleaver
we get into the traffic all day. we just go for the weekend. we sometimes meet friends up there and sit in the back of the truck and watch the action till 1am. I can drive there in less than an hour from my house. I live just south of the I75/40 split. ....but usually that weekend is the UT homecoming game and i have my marching orders to be in front of a tv..... Robert
Yes Robert, just let us (MCG) know what we can do to help, we will do everything we can! I think this has the makings of a terrific event and I thank you for your efforts!!!!!
I'll be meeting with the board members on the 26th to nail down the dates and location. the dates on the http://www.mypigeonforge.com/ website doesn't match what jim sent me, hopefully the location will be the same which is in the main part of pigeon forge, just one block off the main strip and only a few blocks from plenty of shopping. here is the link to the hotel http://www.smokymountainresorts.com/country_home.htm Robert
Just got back from the TVMC meeting. They were very nice and happy to have me as a guest. They gave me about 10 mins of floor time to talk about the clubs. I took all the news letters I had, they were impressed. their news letter was small and didn't contain much. we are all invited to join the fun in september. I will post the registration form when it is finallized....the only bad thing i seen so far is that the hotel wants $25 from car owners not staying at the hotel on top of the entry fee. Robert
Thanks again for the hard work. Once you get all the info, Matt can post it on the MCG website as a scheduled meet for 2007. Thanks again Robert.
The Spring Run is under way.......I am still at work but will go up there tomorrow. Just got a call from the girlfriend's brother who just spotted 2 grabbers running around on the strip......got to go see who is there....... Robert
Shades of the Past is this weekend right?? I would like to see some pictures or video of all these old cars i've heard about. Is it really bumper to bumper old cars?
yep....the shades of the past is friday and saturday. Lokar manufacturing is in the same industrial park that I work in and they have a gathering on thursday....today...every year for the rods to stop by. the area is packed with old cars. I'll be going up on saturday to the swapmeet and car show. It is held at the little river ranch. going to go see if I cant't get some dress up stuff for the motor. Robert
Reminder Just a reminder, the Tennessee Valley Mustang Club's Mustang and all ford show is in a couple of weeks, Sept 22 and 23. I would like to get a count of all that will try and attend. I will be taking the new Grabber (If I get it Road Worthy) just to have a Maverick presence. There should be a link in one of the previous post to the event. Robert
