...so I can plug them into my DesktopDyno program and see what you got vs what the program got, so I can get an estimate of what I REALLY have compared to what the program SAYS I have... please
got it, will post here what I find if I get a chance to put your numbers in the dyno2000 this weekend. I would like to find a "percent error" between your numbers and the Desktop Dyno numbers so that I can subtract that percent from my numbers and have a good estimate.
OK, here is what I got...the real-world dyno numbers were 87.2% of the Desktop Dyno for HP and 90.5% for Torque, so my "corrected" numbers are HP 303 X .872 = 264 TQ 273 X .905 = 247 Which is MUCH closer to what I expected. Do these corrected numbers sound about right for my setup (at the flywheel)?
with the 351 and AFR 185 id say he should be near 400 RWHP if not MORE. AFR heads are BAD ARSE Cant really trust that dyno 2000 i have it also I have 351W C9 Heads Heavy PORT and Bowl worked all port and gasket matched from carb to headers...edlebrock RPM air gap ported...holley 750DP comp cams magnum 244 @ .050 .518 .518 292H Roller rockers and big tubes headers and ever program i tried gets me a 400/400 engine The guy who did my heads told me a should get an easy 400 HP
Actually, I just figured that his numbers are at the ground, and the dyno numbers are at flywheel, so maybe the Desktop dyno numbers actually are closer than I thought... Now I am just more confused... I still think my flywheel hp and torque should be the lower numbers.... That only gives 10-15% loss between flywheel and ground.
Eddie, you grabbed that quote before I erased that sentence...when I opened the program, I found that it only gave me 300-ish HP not 350-ish. Then I came back and erased that line...
I was impressed with the GT40P flow numbers after looking up the AFR185s (my choice for my next engine, by the way). The Ps flow pretty good for steel heads with small valves... Now I am starting to lean toward the fact that MAYBE the program is a decent estimate of flywheel HP. The numbers he gave me would jive if you add the 15% loss and it jives with what your guy said you should have... Is it possible that my car really DOES have 300 HP and 275 TQ? I think I need to drive it to Shadowmaster's and let him take it for a spin, and he could tell me if it feels like a 300HP car. Too cheap to actually put it on a dyno, which is half as far as Shadow's house I guess I need to stop guessing and just do the dyno.
