In my last post I had one side working with no difusing material. I called Lambert Ind, and they would not sell me any difusing material. Said its to hard to come by. Geeze. So I went to home depot and bought one of those light panels for a drop ceiling and cut it to size. Works pretty good. The camera makes the light look white when it is actually very red. Also the bright mode screws up the camera's focusing but you will get the idea. First picture is lights off. Second picture is running lights without flash. Third is brake lights with camera flash and last is no flash and garage lights off. Them suckers are bright. Can you imagine 4 of them?
Is that DOT legal? I would think to be legal they would also have top have a reflector element to them. ???????
Probably not but I dont care. Hell I've been running around for the last 7 years will illeagle "MAVAHOLIC" tags.
Look good ... I've been driving around for about a year with a 1971 GA Tag ... totally not legal ... but have never been questioned about it ...
Very cool! I doubt any cop would bother you. My dad ran around with those blue dots in his tail lights for years and years, supposedly they aren't legal since they light up blue, but no cop ever bothered him over them. I think the only thing they care about is if the light up and work correctly. 'Cuz they sure don't hesitate to pull you over for a burned out tail light.
Holey crap Mavaholic, that is bright. Can someone please help me find my retinas? Ray Charles could see those tail lights in the Caribbean at high noon.
Sure is bright. All I did, was get rid of the backup lites. Made all four of mine work also. But did it, with two sets of Comet tailgiht lenses....
Was the Home Depot material already red or did you have to color it? They probably stock red so that the madams can refurbish their cat houses.
The material is clear. I have a sheet of transparent red plexiglass that I made the lens out of. I put the difuser material behind the red plexiglass.
did you get the resistor you were talking about put in the sequence for the blinkers? looking very sharp.
