    Probly been asked and answered, but what rack and pinion can be swaped into a maverick. Just want to make my car better.

    AFAIK there's no rack that'll be a easy swap.

    You need to be proficient with a smoke wrench & welder.

    Without updating suspension, there won't be much improvement.

    That's half what I paid for my Comet:yikes:, plus it had fresh paint & nice interior.

    With a complete suspension & steering rebuild with extra caster, these cars drive very good. With worn parts are like chasing snakes.

    The only reason I'd like to have rack & pinion is because I would prefer 3 turns lock-to-lock instead of the 3-3/4 turns the stock steering has...

    Install a manual box, the over five turns will make you appreciate what you have now.

    No need. I had a friend with a manual-steering Maverick and I got to drive that. No thanks!...
