My '74 appears to have come from the factory with staggered rear shocks. The reason I say 'appears' is because the shocks are long gone and so are the backing plates. It has slapper bars on it now. The passenger side upper mount is about 2" forward of the driver's side.

Did these cars come with staggered shocks?

Can you post a pic? Not sure why you wouldn't still have shocks with slapper bars.

I'm finishing the build of a drag race only car. I disassembled the car 10 years ago and installed a 9" rear. I threw the shocks away at that point. Job change in 2007 stopped work on the car and it sat in storage until four months ago. Now I'm back at it and I frankly couldn't remember what the shock set up was. Old Timer's Disease.

Gotcha! lol...I have that issue frequently myself. My shocks are still staggered on my car as well. Will change that when I install the Calvert leaf springs...but not sure when I'll do that. Car currently is hooking just fine.
