Looking into Replacing my cheap shocks with something better and would like to know what the best shocks are to buy for front and back
Hey Kyle: I used these in the past, very good shocks without breaking the bank......... http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/kyb-kg4517/overview/?retaillocation=int http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/kyb-kg5447/overview/ David
What are you looking to do with the car? Auto cross? Drag race? Daily driver? I'd contact mike maier in Livermore, he could set you up with a really nice set up. He does mostly mustang stuff but has done a maverick before. Mikemaierinc.com
knowing a little about kyle and his car I would say a driver slash mild hotrod I know hes got a little drag racer in him somewhere
Does anyone have any experience with QA1 shocks? Maybe a little bit of drag when I get my stroker built
Even if you want to go with a different type of shock than I did, this article may help open options up for you if you are having a hard time finding rear shocks for Mavs. Front shocks are the same as a Mustang application IIRC, so they should be easy to find. http://mmb.maverick.to/resources/more-options-for-rear-shocks-for-our-cars.26/
thanks for the tip i just found these and was wondering if they would work? http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d...=Search_C0077_1210341_3488&pt=C0077&ppt=C0035
Wow .... never saw Sensa-Tracs with helper springs before. Similar to air shocks and our cars, I would say don't go there. Those helper springs would likely punch the upper shock mounts through the trunk floor. Properly designed springs carry the vehicle weight, and shock are really there to control the motion of the suspension and keep the tire in contact with the road. Helper springs on shocks really are a band-aid rather than a proper solution.
