Hello all. I have a Mexican 302 C8AM-6015-B complete and running motor. With a partial vin of 1K170328. Think its a maverick motor. Looking for owner of 1k93f170328 or 1k91f170328 ect. Thank you
It's a 68 casting but date code 1970 and assembly date sept. 1970 with partial vin 1k. It's correct could be replacement but that is the vin.
The 74 Comet 2 door LDO that I had, came with a D1ZM Mexican 302 VIN stamping matching that of the car........ David
Yes 1K170328 was very likely a '71 Maverick... I've seen info that all Country Squire Station wagons(ones with fake wood grain) came from KC but not sure if that applied as late as '71... "Loose" engines generally came from wrecks or junked vehicles, chances are slim to almost none the orig vehicle still exists... Original casting numbers were often used several years, a C8 in '71 is not unusual... To be sure the casting date and engine build date should be checked...
So the story is my dad bought the mustang I now own about 22 years ago. He says the guy had a maverick also. I'm really trying to find this car it might have my motor in it. It was a special motor to this mustang. Today it has the Mexican and an 8" rearend from the car I'm looking for. And this maverick is probably running or sitting around with my K code and 9" rearend.
Well good luck, defiantly a worthwhile search... I'm sure you know but there were only 472 K code Stangs built in '67, a rare pony indeed... You need to buddy up to a law enforcement officer that will run the VIN to see if it's still registered... If It can't be done by partial, Marti can likely find the complete Maverick VIN for you...
