Hi everyone! I'm trying to find parts for my 347 stroker, but google searches have landed me nowhere. i need to see where i can purchase a single piston and rod, as well as a single Aluminum head to match the parts that are still usable on my 6000 mile rebuilt motor...(dropped a valve..results were devastating)

Piston: R117 marking on the underside of the piston..brand unknown
    Rod: SCAT54 on the arm
Cylinder head: 60323ZH or 60393ZH...isn't clear. on the front corner on the outside of the casting
and... C 3002-210-0603-0211 etched into the casting between the valvce cover and exhaust manifold.

any help would be greatly appreciated. This is Bev Cannon's old car which i purchased last year.

Thanks guys, I'll look into that! any idea about the generic Alum. Head? really don't want to have to buy a pair of them, or use cast heads

To prevent same from happening again, would be a good idea to replace all the valve components... Did the valve fail or keeper/retainer?

Maybe could buy bare head and select quality valvetrain pieces???

The easy part is the head. It can be repaired a lot cheaper depending on the original cost, just take it to a reputable High Performance machine shop and get an estimate. They can weld it up and make it look new, I've had to repair some pretty severe damage on my heads several times and it amazes me what a good head man can do..
As for the piston and rod, this gets a little tricky because the new one need to match the old ones in weight. You can take a good rod and piston to the machine shop and see if they can find a match for it.

Maybe it's just me but considering the generic head went 6k and caused a massive failure I would spend the money for a good set and forget the cheap set.

Keeper let go after 2 aluminum rockers slipped....

the broken valve mangled up the aluminum seat pretty bad...it looks beyond repair to me, but if you think it can be repaired, i'll have it looked at. Is it possible to buy a single piston and rod from SCAT? from what i've seen they only come in sets.

    Thanks for the help everyone!!!

Was that 6,000 miles or 6,000 rpms ? That's the question to ask. My 331 is ten years old and has been to 6500 many times, 7 grand a few times and it's still going strong.
