Cleaning turn signal switch

    As anybody cleaned the contacts on the turn signal switch with brake cleaner? I'm having problems that the blinker is not blinking. I replaced the blinker relay and the turn signal switch.

    I replaced mine with one from ebay, actually had to do the steering wheel tube and got a NOS one.

    They're pricey though...

    Have you tried light sanding them with like 1000 grit paper?

    I haven't tried sandpaper yet. I did replace the switch with another one.

    Use 1000 grit or lighter :)

    I would use this instead of brake cleaner...

    Yup, brake cleaner can melt/deform some plastics...

    There is a product called Deoxit that is supposed to be the best electronic cleaner avail, but is hard to find... The antique radio, guitar amp, etc restorers swear by it...
