I have been looking at various platforms to create a sleeper track day car and after researching the options I decided it would be a Maverick. It's basically a less sexy Mustang underneath and will be fun to get them point bys.

Here to better understand all the suspension options especially.

I have a 74 Maverick with I6 250 and automatic c4.

I would like to put in a 302 but would like to keep the transmission that is in, as I had it rebuilt in 99 then parked it a few years later.

Also having a hard time finding/selecting a 302 would a newer 302 work or only the ones from the 70’s?
